Originally from north suburban Chicago, Angel grew up in a home filled with music and at an early age developed a love and appreciation for a variety of styles. Her father being a professional pianist, she was exposed to various live performance opportunities and studio work consisting of commercial advertisement jingles and voice overs. Later, Angel went on to earn her degrees in Commercial Music and Music Business from Millikin University, followed by a year abroad studying and performing in Milan and Rome, Italy.
Currently, Angel holds a steady schedule, performing publicly several nights a week as part of a jazz duo at Bravo Restaurant in Glenview, as well as regular performances with Chicago’s finest musicians in various jazz venues including Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase and The Green Mill. Angel is also the featured vocalist for Barry Winograd’s Alternative Big Band. Aside from jazz performances, Angel is a partner in her father's social event business, Musickworks LTD, where she performs many different genres of music with signature band, Phase4 (www.phase4music.com), as well as books/manages music entertainment for corporate/social functions throughout the Chicagoland area.
In 2014, Angel was chosen among thousands and placed as a top 12 finalist in a vocal competition held by an ABC Chicago morning program, Windy City Live. During the run of the competition, she released her first album, "One Day, All Too Soon,” that in an article by ChicagoJazz.com reviewed...
“‘One Day, All Too Soon’ demonstrates that Angel Spiccia has a lovely voice with a delicious timbre and insightful, interpretive skills. Equally comfortable with both jazz and popular music, Spiccia shows a wide creative range.”
“One Day, All Too Soon” continues to receive national radio air play, as well as on her own station at Pandora.com. It is also available on iTunes, CDBaby.com and www.angelspiccia.com.
